At The One-Eyed Muse, we are not just a team—we’re a family bound by creativity, love, and a sprinkle of magic.
The story of our duo began over 11 years ago, when fate brought two kindred spirits together. Born exactly one day apart, we’ve been more than best friends—we’ve been sisters in every way that matters. From sharing the same favorite dishes to obsessing over the same quirky delights, we’ve grown together, laughed together, and now, built a dream together. Sisters don’t count years because what we have is infinite, and The One-Eyed Muse is the family we’ve created to share our love for art and storytelling with you.
As the Muse Magician, I (the founder) am the dreamer and creator. With a bubbling cauldron of ideas, I brew the essence of whimsy into every illustration and brainstorm where these little wonders will find their home. Whether it’s socks adorned with funny animals to bring a smile to your 9-to-5, temporary tattoos featuring our muse as the centerpiece for festivals or daring first tattoos, or notebooks that celebrate women’s strength and stories with our muse woven into their pages—everything we create carries a touch of magic and meaning.
Enter The Mystical Designer, my lifelong partner-in-creativity and the visual enchanter who transforms these ideas into stunning realities. Using her graphic design wizardry, she creates mockups, designs our website, and crafts the magical aesthetics of our social media feed. She’s also my trusted consultant, lending her brilliant mind to refine ideas and make The One-Eyed Muse shine brighter. Together, we pour our hearts and souls into every piece we create, ensuring that each one is as special to us as it is to you.
Our collaboration is as fun and quirky as the products we create. Picture me, the Muse Magician, stirring a pot of creative potions, while the Mystical Designer waves her wand (or, well, her Photoshop skills) to bring them to life. Why I Created The One-Eyed Muse
I am the first-born daughter of a Vietnamese family, and if you know that, you can probably guess the rest. Growing up, I felt the weight of perfection on my shoulders. I had to set the example for my younger brother, always be prepared to step into any role if needed—even the head of the household. I had to be tough, self-reliant, and hyper-independent, almost like a man in the shape of a woman.
I didn’t allow myself to embrace my femininity, to show weakness, or to ask for help. Instead, I buried myself in hard work and endless expectations. At just 15, I chose to study abroad, became an engineer, and juggled side hustles—all while chasing a flawless image I thought I had to build. But no matter how much I achieved, it was never enough.
Over time, I learned the hardest but most beautiful truth: strength doesn’t come from being perfect; it comes from embracing the imperfections that are often overlooked. Those little quirks, doubts, and "not quite good enough" moments—they are part of what makes us whole. They’re not flaws; they’re the hidden gems in our stories.
And so, The One-Eyed Muse was born.
Through my brand, I want every woman to see that imperfection isn’t a flaw—it’s a unique and beautiful part of their story. I want to inspire women to embrace their individuality, let go of self-doubt, and stop the endless comparisons. Whether it’s a quirky pair of socks, a notebook celebrating women’s stories, or a gift that tells someone they’re enough, my creations are here to remind you that you don’t have to be perfect to be worthy of love, joy, and pride.
